Radnor Lake

Although still recovering from bug bites, we had a great time at the very peaceful Radnor Lake. We took a long walk and then hiked up to the nature center where I was able to read a bit while Elijah continued his nap. Being in the woods is good for one's soul, I believe.

Look closely! There is a deer in this picture.

Oh, and did I mention that Elijah is walking?

Sevier Park

A Civil War era house + two playgrounds + three swing sets + courts for tennis and basketball + a soccer field + a wide, paved path = a great park!

Feminism's Results

This story reveals some of the tragic outcomes of living under feminism. Although Rebecca Walker, daughter of notorious feminist Alice Walker, does not claim to be a Christian, she has found many biblical truths to ring true. (e.g. Children ARE a blessing. Children need a Mommy AND a Daddy. Divorce is bad. Motherhood is a delight.)

Deviating from God's design for the family can yield such disastrous results!

Thanks Rachel!

Swimming

Grammie always has super fun ideas! She invited us over to swim and boy was it fun! She even had TWO of those water balls that Elijah loves (to suck on!).
First we checked out the kiddie pool.
Grammie got her feet wet.
Matthew quickly immersed himself.
Elijah was slightly more timid.

Two Mommas and three(!) babies. (It's not me, guys.)
The new float was a big hit, especially with a water ball nearby.
Then these two Mommas decided that the babies should learn to go all the way underwater. "They aren't scared of it right now, so we should probably get them used to it," went the reasoning.

Thanks for a fun afternoon Grammie!

Camping!

We went camping with Eric's family and had a great time! Elijah especially loved being outside all the time. There is something nice about planning to be sweaty all day - really.
Grammie (and others) gave Elijah a lot of wagon rides...
...to keep him away from the gourmet cooking until it was time to eat. We all got really dirty playing around the campsite. Elijah especially had fun with a shovel and pail Grammie had brought.
We went on lots of walks. Elijah learned to wear hats, sunscreen, and bugspray. Twice we took a dip in the big pool.
There was even a really fun playground right around the corner from our campsite!

Daddy was probably most excited about the playground.

The best part of the whole trip was getting lots of kisses!

I Scream, You Scream

Elijah had his first ice cream cone and popsicle this month! Ice cream is ALWAYS delicious (right, Grandma?), especially:
- While camping.

- When eaten with a friend.

- And, in both cases, after swimming.

The Park

We are thankful for parks, friends, picnic lunches, ducks, bleachers, sippy cups, and husbands who can retrieve sippy cups from duck-poop infested ponds using only a stroller during their lunch break. (That would be my dear husband!)

$3.90

10 deodorants, 2 bags of Chex Mix, 1 razor, 2 containers of mouth wash, and 1 bottle of daily moisturizer.

That's right - $3.90 for all of this. ("This" including the deodorant that will only last my husband two weeks. Seriously.)

Plus, I have $11 of CVS money to spend on my next trip.

Many thanks to www.moneysavingmom.com!
