New Year's Day

The new year brought lots of baby action! We got to meet Baby Daniel! Hopefully Polly Jane won't roll over on him. No place to take a nap? We'll just prop you on the couch with blankets. Perfect. Haven is learning to be her own little Momma. She has really enjoyed the baby furniture and dolls she received for Christmas.

The Circus!

Eric took Elijah to the circus two years ago, when he was just a wee potty-training tot. This year, Haven & I were able to go too. The potty bag was definitely in tow; and, you'll be glad to know, this exciting adventure was also accident-free!

Haven, the anemic child, has a LOT of energy. She stood up most during most of the circus. Not really so she could see better, just so she could jump and clap and move. This is her serious face.
Elijah took his "calculators," a gift of long ago from Grandpa Millard.

- Tents & hiding on my bed
- A date with Eric to the peach tree
- Sharing our first-ever homegrown peach, surely the fruit of heaven
- A tree chopped down, saving us "about $1600"

Arkansas

Jenelle and I went on a quick road trip to visit our dear friend, Merilee. Highlights of the trip included:
- Extremely long monologues about my life (sorry, Jenelle!)
- Constant conversation throughout the drive
- A Burger King stop (or two?). Who eats there???
- Introducing Polly Jane to wonderful Henry
- More talking time for me
- Nursing Polly Jane all.night.long. "Oh. Are you feeding her again?"
- The ordination service of the Reverend Faris Paxton!
- Eating a delicious lasagna post-church
- Lots and lots of talking time with my friends

To me, it seems like something is missing in our relationship if I have yet to be in your home - or you in mine. Being in the Paxton's home kind of made my love for them more complete. Is anyone else like that? Merilee's house was a mini version of her mother's - absolutely wonderful, and warm, and cute, and inviting all at once. Thanks, dear friends, for a wonderful weekend away!
